Windows Automatic Repair Loop: Protect Files Before Fixing Boot
A Windows automatic repair loop can appear after a failed update, sudden shutdown, driver conflict or storage problem. The screen may say Windows is diagnosing the PC, then return to the same repair options again and again.
Before trying every menu option, decide whether files need to be protected. Some repair tools are low risk; others can remove apps, change Windows state or write to a failing drive.
Storage health is a key question
If the computer was slow, freezing, clicking or showing disk errors before the repair loop, the storage drive should be checked. A Windows repair on a failing drive may not last and can make data access harder.
BitLocker recovery keys may also be needed on encrypted devices. Have account access ready if possible.
Useful details
Take photos of the repair screens and error messages. Note whether the loop started after an update, power cut or software install.
