A Mac Meeting App Cannot See Your Camera or Screen: Check the Right Permission
A working microphone does not prove that a meeting app has permission to record the screen. macOS treats access to different resources separately, so a precise description of what fails is more useful than “the app has no permissions”.
Identify the application doing the work
First establish whether the meeting runs in a desktop application or a browser tab. If it is in a browser, both the browser's macOS permissions and the website's own permission choices may matter. Do not change the desktop app's settings while testing an unrelated browser session.
Use a private test meeting or the app's preview screen. Check camera image, microphone input and screen sharing as separate tasks. Record any exact permission message and whether a system prompt appeared.
Grant the narrow permission needed
Open System Settings and Privacy & Security. Review Camera for video input, Microphone for audio input and the screen-recording category for sharing display contents. On recent macOS releases, Apple calls the latter Screen & System Audio Recording; older releases may use different wording.
Enable only the app you recognise and intend to use. Follow any request to quit and reopen it, then test the same function again. A permission change does not require granting Full Disk Access to an ordinary meeting app unless its documented purpose specifically justifies that separate access.
Before sharing, close confidential windows and choose a particular window instead of the whole screen when that meets the task. Check the recipient's view using harmless material. A successful local preview does not show exactly what another participant receives.
If the same camera fails in multiple authorised apps, or the device is physically damaged, keep that evidence for hardware assessment. If the Mac is managed, ask its administrator about enforced settings rather than repeatedly trying to bypass them.
