Desktop LED Monitor: Panel edge-bond failure | Auckland
Pattern to record: Fixed lines or a section changes with temperature or slight housing flex.
Separate the panel from the source
This guide concerns an LCD monitor with LED illumination. Compare the monitor’s own on-screen menu with an external image; a defect visible on the menu is different from a problem limited to one cable or source. One possible explanation is that a bonded driver connection at the LCD edge has lost stable contact.
Display-path checks
- Test another source and cable, open the on-screen menu and separate panel, backlight and input faults.
- Observe the fault without pressing the panel and exclude input and T-CON causes.
Handling and electrical safety
Monitor power boards can contain hazardous voltage and retained charge. Pressing or wedging the edge can crack the glass.
Image and input verification
If the checks support this cause, replace the panel when the bonded connection is confirmed unserviceable. Verification should cover all inputs, native resolution, brightness range, sleep wake and extended display.
