Desktop Label Printer Media Path: Cracked feed gear | Auckland
Pattern to record: Clicking accompanies a jam at the same point.

Labels must match the printer’s gap, black-mark or continuous-media sensing mode. Record stock width, liner and roll orientation before calibration; label adhesive can contaminate the platen and sensor path. One possible explanation is that a split gear loses tooth alignment when torque rises.
Feed-path checks
- Confirm label type and calibration, then inspect guides, platen and sensors.
- Rotate the mechanism by hand with power isolated and inspect the entire gear.
Before inspecting the mechanism
Adhesive residue should be removed with the printer powered off. Continuing to print can distribute broken teeth through the path.
Correct the confirmed cause
If the checks support this cause, replace the damaged gear and check the shaft and adjacent load. Verification should cover single labels, batch labels, gap detection, calibration and clean exit.
