Desktop Label Printer Media Path: Moist or curled media | Auckland
Pattern to record: Jams vary with the paper stack and improve with fresh sealed media.
Locate the feed stage
Labels must match the printer’s gap, black-mark or continuous-media sensing mode. Record stock width, liner and roll orientation before calibration; label adhesive can contaminate the platen and sensor path. One possible explanation is that paper shape and surface friction fall outside the feed design.
Feed-path checks
- Confirm label type and calibration, then inspect guides, platen and sensors.
- Compare approved dry media stored flat and review environmental conditions.
Before inspecting the mechanism
Adhesive residue should be removed with the printer powered off. Repeated testing with unsuitable media creates misleading wear symptoms.
Correct the confirmed cause
If the checks support this cause, replace the media and correct storage before mechanical repair. Verification should cover single labels, batch labels, gap detection, calibration and clean exit.
