Refill an Ink Tank and Confirm the Level Reset Matches the Refill
The ink shown on a screen and the ink physically present in a tank are different things to check. A reset confirmation should describe a refill you have actually completed, rather than being used to dismiss a low-ink message.
Match the bottle, tank and model
Find the refill guide for the exact printer and the ink bottle specified for it. Prepare the work area before opening anything, and read the manufacturer's handling precautions. Keep children and pets away from open ink.
For the Epson ET-2850/L4260 example, the documented sequence starts at Maintenance, Fill Ink. The guide requires matching the bottle colour to the tank and observing the upper level line. Its compatible bottle system stops flow at that line; it also warns against removing and reinserting the bottle once the tank is full because ink may leak.
Use those directions only for the documented design. Another tank system may have a different cap, fill method or confirmation screen. Do not squeeze, modify or force a bottle because it looks nearly compatible.
Finish the physical work before confirming
Remove the bottle when filling is complete, close the tank and printer as instructed, and store remaining ink with its cap secured. The cited Epson procedure then directs you through the on-screen level-setting step. Check which colour the prompt refers to before accepting it.
Pause if you cannot clearly see the level or if the wrong colour may have entered a tank. A display reset cannot correct a physical filling mistake. Record what happened and obtain model-specific advice before further printing or cleaning.
After the refill, check for leakage and unresolved messages, then make a small ordinary print if the guide permits. Keep the bottle identification with your maintenance note so a future refill uses the correct product. A useful completion record says which tank was filled and confirmed, rather than merely saying that the warning disappeared.
