Ultrawide Computer Monitor: Monitor thermal shutdown | Auckland
Pattern to record: The display works from cold and turns off after a repeatable period.
Separate the panel from the source
Use the panel’s native resolution and supported input timings when comparing sources. A wide image can exceed a cable or adapter’s capability even when a lower-resolution desktop appears stable. One possible explanation is that a component or blocked airflow reaches its protection temperature.
Display-path checks
- Verify native timing, input bandwidth and panel behaviour with the on-screen menu.
- Record temperature and operating time at controlled brightness.
Handling and electrical safety
A large curved or ultrawide panel must be supported evenly when handled. Covering vents for testing can create further damage.
Image and input verification
If the checks support this cause, repair cooling, the heat-sensitive component or its supply stage. Verification should cover native resolution, multiple inputs, brightness uniformity, sleep and extended use.
For an assessment of your ultrawide monitor, contact AEPC in Burswood or call 027 908 8880. Provide the model and the conditions that reproduce this problem. Workshop visits are by appointment.
