Bluetooth Headset Connection: Wireless headset or USB adapter connection?
Pattern to record: Moving a cable interrupts operation in a documented wired mode or causes a required USB adapter to disconnect.
Trace video, input and output separately
Record whether the headset uses the computer’s Bluetooth radio or a dedicated USB adapter. Compare media playback with microphone-active calls, since the active audio mode and available quality can differ. A charging-only cable does not carry Bluetooth audio; a broken lead matters to audio only if it powers a required adapter or the model supports a wired audio mode.
Compare the failing connection
- Compare headset profiles, another host, interference and driver state.
- Identify what that cable carries, inspect it externally and compare an exact supported replacement in the same documented mode.
Before changing the setup
Do not reset workplace-managed devices before recording pairing information. Do not replace a charging lead as an audio-data repair unless the model actually supports audio over that lead.
Restore the intended function
If the checks support this cause, replace a proven damaged power or wired-audio lead, or return to radio diagnosis when the headset is operating wirelessly. Verification should cover media audio, call audio, microphone, range, sleep and reconnection.
For an assessment of your computer and Bluetooth headset, contact AEPC in Burswood or call 027 908 8880. Provide the model and the conditions that reproduce this problem. Workshop visits are by appointment.
