Business PC Secure Boot System: Missing firmware boot entry | Auckland
Pattern to record: Windows Boot Manager or the expected loader is absent despite a healthy drive.
Record the boot configuration
A managed business PC may depend on an approved Secure Boot policy, TPM state and recovery credentials. Record the exact warning and recent change before resetting firmware or replacing hardware. One possible explanation is that the reference to a valid operating-system loader has been deleted or reordered.
Preserve recovery options
Security resets can make encrypted data inaccessible without recovery credentials. Selecting an unrelated entry may hide the real storage problem.
Firmware and hardware checks
- Record encryption status and approved policy before changing TPM or Secure Boot settings.
- Verify the loader on disk and inspect the UEFI boot list.
Recovery and startup checks
If the checks support this cause, recreate the correct signed entry and place it in a sensible order. Verification should cover authorised sign-in, restart, updates, encryption status and managed applications.
