Business PC Secure Boot System: Incorrect boot mode | Auckland
Pattern to record: The drive is detected but no valid boot option is offered.
Record the boot configuration
A managed business PC may depend on an approved Secure Boot policy, TPM state and recovery credentials. Record the exact warning and recent change before resetting firmware or replacing hardware. One possible explanation is that legacy and UEFI expectations do not match the installed operating system.
Preserve recovery options
Security resets can make encrypted data inaccessible without recovery credentials. Changing disk layout before backup can make recovery harder.
Firmware and hardware checks
- Record encryption status and approved policy before changing TPM or Secure Boot settings.
- Compare partition style, boot files and current firmware mode without converting the disk.
Recovery and startup checks
If the checks support this cause, restore the correct boot mode or repair the matching boot files. Verification should cover authorised sign-in, restart, updates, encryption status and managed applications.
