Send a Chrome Work Tab to Your Other Device and Verify the Receiving Context
Sending a work tab to another device is useful when you need to leave the desk, but the destination still needs the correct website identity and a usable view of the task. Save important application work before relying on a browser handoff.
Choose the destination deliberately
Confirm both devices use the intended Google account in Chrome. Google requires the same account for Send to your devices. Review the device names carefully, especially where an old phone or similarly named computer remains associated with the account.
On the source tab, open Chrome’s menu, Cast, save, and share, then Send to your devices. Select the device you control. Start with a harmless reference page if this is the first time you have used the arrangement.
Open the receiving tab or notification and compare the page title and address with the source. If nothing appears, check the receiving Chrome account and available notification state before repeatedly sending the same page.
Check the application, not just the link
For a work service, inspect its own account menu on the receiving device. Browser sign-in and website sign-in are separate checks. Confirm the document, organisation or customer record is the intended one before editing or submitting anything.
Google describes continuing a tab across devices, including your place and typed work. Still verify the particular application’s saved status and visible content. Do not assume an in-progress upload or transaction completed simply because a page opened elsewhere.
Keep the source device’s work available until the receiving task is confirmed. For a transaction, check its recorded outcome before trying the action again. For a document, inspect the latest expected edit and use the service’s save process.
If the destination is shared, consider whether opening the tab exposes information to another user. End the receiving website session when the work is finished. The acceptance check is a correct, authorised continuation of the task on the chosen device, rather than a successful click on Send.
