Gaming PC UEFI Configuration: Failed memory training data | Auckland
Pattern to record: Cold boot loops before POST but may succeed after several attempts.
Record the boot configuration
Separate a stock configuration from memory profiles, CPU tuning and GPU changes. A boot fault that began after tuning should first be reproduced at supported defaults, without increasing voltage to make POST succeed. One possible explanation is that saved timing information no longer matches installed memory or current conditions.
Preserve recovery options
Unstable overclocking can corrupt data and should not be used during diagnosis. Increased voltage is not a safe substitute for compatibility.
Firmware and hardware checks
- Return to documented baseline settings and test one hardware group at a time.
- Return memory settings to baseline and test supported modules individually.
Recovery and startup checks
If the checks support this cause, clear only the training data or replace incompatible memory after confirmation. Verification should cover repeated cold boots, memory load, graphics initialisation, restart and sleep.
