Check the Previous Repeating Reminder Before Rebuilding Your Mac Calendar
A recurring task can look different from a recurring calendar event. In Calendar on macOS Sequoia 15 and later, a repeating reminder’s next occurrence does not necessarily appear as a long series of future entries. Check the current task before deleting and recreating the schedule.
This workflow uses updated iCloud reminders. Apple notes that other account providers may not support every Reminders feature. Identify which account holds the task so a provider limitation is not mistaken for a broken calendar.
Check visibility and completion separately
In Calendar, show the calendar list with View, Show Calendar List if needed. Enable Scheduled Reminders. Look in the all-day section for reminders without a scheduled time and at the specified time for timed ones.
Apple documents that a repeating reminder appears when the previous repeating reminder is complete. For example, the following weekly occurrence becomes visible after the current one is completed. An unfinished predecessor is therefore important evidence when a future task seems absent.
Inspect the task in Reminders and confirm its current due date, repeat rule and completion state. Do not mark unfinished work complete simply to make the next date appear. That would change the task record instead of explaining it.
Test the rule without changing real work
If you want to demonstrate the behaviour, use a clearly labelled disposable recurring reminder. Observe its current appearance in Calendar, complete the test occurrence, then inspect the following date. Keep the test separate from a shared operational list.
For the real reminder, complete the current occurrence only when the task has actually been done. Then check that the next occurrence matches the intended schedule. If it still does not appear, preserve the account, due date, repeat rule and observed state for further investigation.
A calendar view is one presentation of the task. Confirming the reminder’s own settings and completion history gives a stronger explanation than repeatedly changing which future week is visible.
