Use the correct Mac power design

Use the exact Apple-silicon MacBook Air model to identify its charging ports and supported adapter. A black display alone does not prove the Mac is unpowered; check for other startup signs before pursuing the input circuit. One possible explanation is that the controller responsible for detecting and accepting external power is not completing negotiation.

Power and data precautions

Mac batteries and logic boards must be isolated with model-appropriate procedures. Controller replacement requires correct configuration and microsoldering technique.

Model-specific checks

1. Verify the correct charger, inspect all ports and separate display absence from true no-power behaviour.
2. Compare port controller behaviour and protected input rails with board-level references.

Repair and startup verification

If the checks support this cause, replace the confirmed controller or damaged supporting components. Verification should cover cold start, charging on each supported port, battery operation, sleep, wake and restart.
