MacBook Pro charging requirements vary by model and workload. Compare the supported adapter and cable with the installed configuration, and note whether the problem is confined to one charging port or appears on every supported path. One possible explanation is that residue has damaged fine startup or power-management conductors.

Power and data precautions

Stop high-load testing if the charger connection or board area becomes unusually hot. Powering a contaminated Mac accelerates corrosion and may reduce data-recovery options.

Model-specific checks

1. Compare supported ports, charger profiles, battery condition and board current behaviour.
2. Disconnect power, document affected areas and test conductors after controlled cleaning.

Repair and startup verification

If the checks support this cause, repair verified corroded traces and components, then test all affected functions. Verification should cover all charging ports, full-power operation, battery transition, sleep and shutdown.
