Ultrawide Computer Monitor: Damaged video input port | Auckland
Pattern to record: One input fails or reacts when the plug is moved.
Separate the panel from the source
Use the panel’s native resolution and supported input timings when comparing sources. A wide image can exceed a cable or adapter’s capability even when a lower-resolution desktop appears stable. One possible explanation is that connector pins or board joints no longer carry stable high-speed data.
Display-path checks
- Verify native timing, input bandwidth and panel behaviour with the on-screen menu.
- Compare inputs and inspect the connector and protection devices.
Handling and electrical safety
A large curved or ultrawide panel must be supported evenly when handled. A heavy cable can tear new joints unless strain is relieved.
Image and input verification
If the checks support this cause, replace the damaged port or repair its board connection. Verification should cover native resolution, multiple inputs, brightness uniformity, sleep and extended use.
