USB Webcam System: Webcam video failure or Bluetooth headset audio?
Pattern to record: Camera video and call audio behave differently during the same meeting.
Trace video, input and output separately
Identify the USB webcam selected in the call application and test video separately from any built-in microphone. Bluetooth headset audio is a different path and does not explain USB camera capture failure by itself. Bluetooth call profiles affect a Bluetooth audio path; they do not control camera video or a physical privacy shutter.
Compare the failing connection
- Compare another USB port and application, check privacy permission and test sustained capture.
- Select the intended camera, test it in an authorised capture application, and test any Bluetooth headset separately with its microphone active.
Before changing the setup
Disconnect any cable with crushed insulation or an overheating camera. Changing Bluetooth profiles cannot open a closed camera shutter or repair a missing camera connection.
Restore the intended function
If the checks support this cause, repair the path that actually fails: camera selection, permission, shutter or USB connection for video, and the documented headset mode for audio. Verification should cover video, microphone if fitted, multiple applications, sleep and a sustained call.
