USB-C Docking Monitor: Panel edge-bond failure | Auckland
Pattern to record: Fixed lines or a section changes with temperature or slight housing flex.
Separate the panel from the source
Test video, USB data and laptop charging separately on a USB-C monitor. Success in one function does not prove that the same cable, host port and monitor can support the others. A bonded driver connection at the LCD edge has lost stable contact; this particular explanation requires a compatible LCD panel design and does not establish a fault in an OLED model.
Display-path checks
- Test every function with a known full-featured cable and compare other inputs.
- Observe the fault without pressing the panel and exclude input and T-CON causes.
Handling and electrical safety
Not every USB-C cable carries video or the monitor's full charging power. Pressing or wedging the edge can crack the glass.
Image and input verification
If the checks support this cause, replace the panel when the bonded connection is confirmed unserviceable. Verification should cover video, USB, charging, Ethernet if fitted, sleep and cable reconnection.
