USB Conference Speakerphone: Microphone routing error | Auckland
Pattern to record: Level meters move on one endpoint while the call uses another.
Trace video, input and output separately
Test the speakerphone’s playback, microphone and mute controls separately. This guide concerns USB mode; a model that also offers Bluetooth must be diagnosed in the mode actually used during the call. One possible explanation is that the application or operating system listens to a different input than intended.
Compare the failing connection
- Test input and output separately, compare another host and inspect USB power stability.
- Name and test each input and inspect application-specific selections.
Before changing the setup
Avoid maximum volume tests when audio is distorted or the unit is hot. Muting or deleting every endpoint can break later calls.
Restore the intended function
If the checks support this cause, choose the intended device and disable only genuinely unused routes. Verification should cover microphone, speaker, mute controls, call software, reconnect and sleep.
